Virgil C. Carson was born in Bedford. He was the son of Orie en Carrie Carson and he had 7 brothers: Sewell, Glenn, Melvin, Clark, Vance, Reno and Ivin and they lived in New Paris, PA

Virgil was married to Frances V. and they were living at Bedford Street, Bedford PA.

Virgil is believed to be killed by shell fire. On 02 Dec.1944 his body was found near Derichsweiler, Germany by a German civilian, Heinz Hilgers, from Derichsweiler near Bend.

Virgil was buried at the American War Cemetery Ardennes on 23 April 1946 at 12.30 hours on Plot J, Row 3, Grave 63. In 1949 he found his last place of rest on Plot D, Row 19, Grave 8
